Just read your AUGI column about Program or Process and it made me think of what I have always disliked about training classes and even software manuals. Typically, they are lists of what each command does. They all focus on the “how”, but no one talks about the “why”. Program – Process.
When our company bought ACAD Electrical, I took the two day training and got the usual “how to”. What would be better is the philosophy of using the program, that is the whys and wherefores of setting up a process of creating a project step-by-step.
With everything computer, there are multiple ways of getting something done, but some times there is a best way. Do this first, then this BECAUSE…
After the training you go back to work and try to figure out how to use the program when you have never learned the process.
Is there hope anyone will ever provide this type of training?
Thanks
