Getting them right is very important and getting them wrong is very easy.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen so many vague lists that I have been frustrated trying to follow them.  They do not give the right amount of information that is needed.  They leave gaps.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what I think needs to be documented in your layer list.<br \/>\nMake sure it includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Layer Names for All Disciplines<\/li>\n<li> Default ON or Freeze<\/li>\n<li>Default Lock Status<\/li>\n<li> Default Color<\/li>\n<li> Line Type<\/li>\n<li> Line weight<\/li>\n<li> Plot Style<\/li>\n<li> Plot\/No Plot<\/li>\n<li>New VP Freeze<\/li>\n<li>Layer Description<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have not covered all of these areas,then your users will get creative with the ones you have left out.<\/p>\n<p>Basically &#8211; define everything that is in the Layer List Dialog box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/layerlist1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-896\" title=\"layerlist1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/layerlist1-300x17.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"537\" height=\"29\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Standard Layers are a big deal.
