{"id":823,"date":"2009-05-04T05:33:59","date_gmt":"2009-05-04T13:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=823"},"modified":"2009-05-03T16:13:03","modified_gmt":"2009-05-04T00:13:03","slug":"cad-standards-defining-scope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2009\/05\/cad-standards-defining-scope\/","title":{"rendered":"CAD Standards &#8211; Defining Scope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How much will you cover?<\/p>\n<p>Defining how in depth your standard will be will assist you in knowing when you have enough to publish.\u00a0 You want enough to make it effective, but not so much that people don&#8217;t read it or know what is in it.\u00a0 It is a delicate balance.<\/p>\n<p>We discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2009\/03\/developing-cad-standards-%E2%80%93-an-overall-plan\/\">the overall plan<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we turn to what will be included.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2009\/03\/what-should-your-cad-standard-contain\/\">I posted before<\/a> and I don\u2019t want you to miss the list on what I think the standard should contain.<\/p>\n<p>There are 10 Basics that all CAD Standards should have, 29 critical items for Basic AutoCAD and 37 critical items for ADT (the vertical tools need more coverage)&gt; I have not included 2010 issues yet since I have not fully thought through what you may need to include for this version.  I hope to post on this later.<\/p>\n<p>Each of these topics needs to be covered at some level.\u00a0 Show your team the entire list.\u00a0 Make sure you add or take away what you think needs to be done.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t be afraid to take a stab at it.\u00a0 You can change it later if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Your team can help work through the list.\u00a0 Solicit input.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have your list, you are ready to start&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How much will you cover?
