Now we move on to another issue that may make your CAD Standard Useless.<\/p>\n<p>A Useless CAD Standard is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not Enforced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you fail to enforce your standard, it soon becomes useless.\u00a0 If there are no consequences for not following the standard, then why should people follow it.\u00a0 People will try to duck the standard, avoid the standard and set it aside.\u00a0 Managers will try to get their team to not use it if they feel\u00a0 it is slowing their project down.\u00a0 Users will ignore it if they think it is irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avoiding this trouble:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Set up a process for reviewing the projects for standards compliance.\u00a0\u00a0 Have them reviewed and fixed.\u00a0 Get your upper management to understand the need for compliance.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t let projects slide when they are not following the standard.\u00a0 Take it as far to the top as you need to.
