CAD Managers give structure to CAD processes. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you providing the structure that your firm needs?\u00a0 Structure comes from more than just the CAD Standards.<\/p>\n

Here are a few things that provide structure to your firm:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Purchasing processes. <\/strong> I have talked about having an approved software list when I wrote on Preventative CAD Management<\/a> and how they can provide you with a structure for selecting and purchasing software.\u00a0 Keep a list of the software that your firm uses and stick to it.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0 Defined migration plans for upgrades.<\/strong> Thing like When to Upgrade<\/a> and When others are Jumping.<\/a> But beyond that – do you provide a well planned out migration process for upgrading.\u00a0 I wrote on this for AUGI some time back (starting in May 2005) – take a look.<\/a><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0 The CAD Standards. <\/strong> You number one way of providing structure.\u00a0 Here are a few post on that issue.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0 Troubleshooting problems. <\/strong> Do you bring a structure to your investigations of troubles.\u00a0 Systematic approaches to finding out what the root problem is and moving toward an answer.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0 Training. <\/strong> Do you develop a structured approach and outline to training?\u00a0 The overarching plan and the outline of each class.<\/p>\n
