Are you one or the other?<\/p>\n

Frugality<\/strong> is the practice of (from Wikipedia)<\/p>\n

  1. acquiring goods and services in a restrained manner, and<\/li>\n
  2. resourcefully using already owned economic goods and services, to<\/li>\n
  3. achieve a longer term goal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Cheap<\/strong> is..<\/p>\n

    The Cambridge dictionary includes the definition as “someone who is unwilling to spend money”<\/p>\n

    So which one are you?\u00a0 Do you acquire software weighing price against benefit?\u00a0 Or do you just look at the price?<\/p>\n

    When figuring out when to purchase software or hardware, you need to take into account many things.\u00a0 CAD Managers have to balance many differing inputs before determining when and what to buy.<\/p>\n

    Here are a few of them…<\/p>\n

    Cost – how much money?<\/p>\n

    Value – What does it produce, fix, speed up, stop, or expand<\/p>\n

    Business Need – What project needs it?<\/p>\n

    Length of service – how long will the tool be used?<\/p>\n

    Breadth of Need – how many people need it?<\/p>\n

    Training – how much training will be needed?<\/p>\n

    Time to deploy and support<\/p>\n

    My list is not exhaustive.\u00a0 I am sure that more comes into play.<\/p>\n
