{"id":582,"date":"2008-07-07T06:36:49","date_gmt":"2008-07-07T13:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=582"},"modified":"2015-04-10T08:45:34","modified_gmt":"2015-04-10T15:45:34","slug":"thought-leadership-your-reputation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2008\/07\/thought-leadership-your-reputation\/","title":{"rendered":"Thought Leadership &#8211; Your Reputation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 7 of 7 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/series\/thought-leadership\/\" class=\"series-83\" title=\"Thought Leadership\">Thought Leadership<\/a><\/div><p>There are some down sides to Thought Leadership.\u00a0 They come if you don&#8217;t pay close attention to the whole process.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They can be negative because the balancing act can sometimes go badly.\u00a0 It can go badly when you say or do something that brings disrepute on yourself or your firm.\u00a0 Thought Leadership comes with a lot of responsibility.\u00a0 You take into your own hands the reputation that you espouse and the reputation of all the people and groups you are associated with.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-585\" title=\"reputation\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/reputation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"162\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>You might get the wrong reputation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do not enter into this arena lightly.\u00a0 There are great rewards, but there are also great consequences.\u00a0 If things take a downturn because you have misrepresented yourself, then it can take a while to get back on track.<\/p>\n<p>CAD Managers are thought leaders. They lead others just based on the positions that they hold.\u00a0 They lead others based on the processes they refine.\u00a0 They lead others by documenting and unifying their firms.\u00a0 This leadership is granted beyond the position when CAD Managers earn the respect of others.<\/p>\n<p>The down side of leading may happen when you lose the respect and trust of others.\u00a0 This can happen if you do not think about other peoples perspectives and agendas.\u00a0 CAD Managers are in the customer service business.\u00a0 The customer may not always be right, but getting them to understand that may be tricky.\u00a0 Adjusting their perspective is often a delicate dance.\u00a0 Respect them at all times.\u00a0 Seek to understand them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Never Forget&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The down side of thought leadership is that is places you in a position that requires you to never forget that when you speak (on anything, or everything) people listen.
