I have mentioned several items to review or check off the list when you have a new hire come into your office.\u00a0 Here are a few last ones.<\/p>\n
Check back with them often<\/strong> – don’t let them fend for themselves.\u00a0 Return to their cubicle and chat with them from time to time.\u00a0 Ask if they have any questions.\u00a0 See how they are doing.<\/p>\n Give them some encouragement<\/strong> – look for things that they are doing well.\u00a0 Compliment them on the way they have blended in. \u00a0\u00a0 Show them a new trick in the software or some tip that you have found that works well.<\/p>\n Bring them up to speed on trivial office politics<\/strong> – This is not to fling dirt on others, it is to help them avoid any potholes. \u00a0 I firmly believe that you should not cloud the waters of office politics with your own perspectives.
