{"id":528,"date":"2008-05-12T06:06:12","date_gmt":"2008-05-12T14:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2008\/05\/new-hire-orientation-part-3\/"},"modified":"2008-05-12T06:06:12","modified_gmt":"2008-05-12T14:06:12","slug":"new-hire-orientation-part-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2008\/05\/new-hire-orientation-part-3\/","title":{"rendered":"New Hire Orientation &#8211; Part 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have mentioned several items to review or check off the list when you have a new hire come into your office.\u00a0 Here are a few last ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check back with them often<\/strong> &#8211; don&#8217;t let them fend for themselves.\u00a0 Return to their cubicle and chat with them from time to time.\u00a0 Ask if they have any questions.\u00a0 See how they are doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Give them some encouragement<\/strong> &#8211; look for things that they are doing well.\u00a0 Compliment them on the way they have blended in. \u00a0\u00a0 Show them a new trick in the software or some tip that you have found that works well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bring them up to speed on trivial office politics<\/strong> &#8211; This is not to fling dirt on others, it is to help them avoid any potholes. \u00a0 I firmly believe that you should not cloud the waters of office politics with your own perspectives.
