{"id":3208,"date":"2014-12-03T22:39:24","date_gmt":"2014-12-04T05:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=3208"},"modified":"2014-12-04T08:21:40","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T15:21:40","slug":"autodesk-university-2014-day-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2014\/12\/autodesk-university-2014-day-three\/","title":{"rendered":"Autodesk University 2014 &#8211; Day Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 4 of 5 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/series\/au2014\/\" class=\"series-79\" title=\"AU2014\">AU2014<\/a><\/div><p>I started my day presenting my class. &#8220;The Greatest Lessons I&#8217;ve Ever Learned&#8221;.\u00a0 Here is a snippet.<\/p>\n<p>In order to learn (A Lesson or anything), you have to listen well.\u00a0 To do that you need to keep these things in mind.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t judge people as you listen<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t draw conclusions until the person is done talking<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t interrupt (my trouble spot)<\/li>\n<li>Do organize and repeat what you have heard&#8230; &#8220;So you are saying that&#8230;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Do listen for ideas and concepts and even hidden messages\/signals<\/li>\n<li>When learning a lesson from another persons story, apply it to yourself and other situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After class it was on to a presentation on Student Educational partnerships that Autodesk is setting up.\u00a0 They are not only providing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/education\/free-software\/all\">FREE SOFTWARE to students and educators<\/a>, but are working toward project based learning tools.\u00a0 They are also connecting via support and funding to organizations that provide learning opportunities for students.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/20141203_130704.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3215\" alt=\"20141203_130704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/20141203_130704-300x168.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/20141203_130704-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/20141203_130704-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n(Some of the partners)<\/p>\n<p>Dan Banach, Lynn Austin and John Helfen of Autodesk lead a panel presentation with two such options.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pltw.org\/\">Project Lead The Way<\/a> is one.\u00a0 Andrea Croslyn discussed how her organization worked with students to nurture STEM learning.\u00a0 They also provide Certiport discounts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.f1inschools.com\/\">F1 in Schools<\/a> &#8211; Nelson Vale presented on how students in Portugal\u00a0 joined the competition and after competing for three year took top honors.<\/p>\n<p>It was encouraging the hear that Autodesk has the right thinking&#8230; it does not stop once the software is provided.
