Structure driven leaders…<\/p>\n

Your Leadership<\/strong> is driven by specific defined processes and procedures.\u00a0 Org charts are your friend. You look for order in the chaos.\u00a0 You bristle at randomness.\u00a0 Your heart rate goes up when things are done “on the fly”.<\/p>\n

Your Actions<\/strong> will tend toward written processes and documented work flow.\u00a0 You create policy and procedure.\u00a0 You define how things are done.\u00a0 You write manuals and guidelines for others.\u00a0 You are tied to writing things down once so that many can reap the benefits.<\/p>\n

Your First Thoughts<\/strong> are to look for documentation.\u00a0 When a problem arises, you look to see if the proper steps were followed.\u00a0 When a new feature is to be used, you write down how it is to be used.\u00a0 When the organization is realigned, you want to see the org chart.\u00a0 Who reports to who?\u00a0 Who does what?<\/p>\n

The Positive<\/strong> is that you will remind people that we already have a process for that and that if it was followed, we would not be in this problem.\u00a0 When things go wrong you can quickly define the breaking point as you review the procedure that was used.\u00a0 When others have gotten off track you can quickly restore things by referring to the manual.<\/p>\n

The Negative<\/strong> is that people will be annoyed by your perceived strict adherence to the rules.\u00a0 You will be seen as stifling creativity.\u00a0 No one want to work with a person who beats them over the head with the rules.<\/p>\n

Blending the creative side of leadership will help balance this disposition.<\/p>\n
