{"id":2695,"date":"2012-01-25T08:25:23","date_gmt":"2012-01-25T15:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=2695"},"modified":"2012-05-08T16:28:09","modified_gmt":"2012-05-08T23:28:09","slug":"decisions-analyzing-possible-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2012\/01\/decisions-analyzing-possible-solutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Decisions &#8211; Analyzing Possible Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 5 of 9 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/series\/decision-making\/\" class=\"series-69\" title=\"Decision Making\">Decision Making<\/a><\/div><p><strong>Develop potential solutions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now comes the step where you start brainstorming decisions and possible options that may generate positive outcomes.\u00a0 In a pinch you will move through these steps quickly.\u00a0 When you have time, you can think a little more on these items.\u00a0\u00a0 Decision-making is not as involved as Strategic Planning, but it impacts your operations so you need to devote yourself to getting better at making decisions.<\/p>\n<p>You could write these down so that you can take a look at them.\u00a0 The next step is thinking it through, so you need to prep for that.\u00a0\u00a0 Make a list of the options.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry too much at this time about the best solution, just get them down on paper or sorted in your head.<\/p>\n<p>You can throw out the obvious ones that will not fit your criteria for success.\u00a0 If replacing a server is not an option after a crash, then don\u2019t list it. If swapping parts in a dead machine is an option \u2013 list it.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have your list move to\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Analyzing the alternatives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now take the list and review it? What might work and what might not?\u00a0 What cost money and what does not?\u00a0 What can staff do and what can they not do?\u00a0 What has worked before and what has not?
