{"id":1961,"date":"2010-08-10T08:19:29","date_gmt":"2010-08-10T15:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=1961"},"modified":"2010-08-10T08:19:29","modified_gmt":"2010-08-10T15:19:29","slug":"cad-manager-job-description","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2010\/08\/cad-manager-job-description\/","title":{"rendered":"CAD Manager Job Description"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote this some time ago and I am reposting it.\u00a0 I am in the process of writing an updated Job Description and will post that at some point.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Here is a brief overview of a  \t\t\t\tCAD Manager position and the duties involved:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide production CAD  \t\t\t\t\tsupport<\/li>\n<li>Develop, implement and  \t\t\t\t\tenforce CAD Standards<\/li>\n<li>Organize the CAD  \t\t\t\t\tenvironment<\/li>\n<li>Supply technical support  \t\t\t\t\tfor all CAD software<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for  \t\t\t\t\tplotting and electronic file submissions<\/li>\n<li>Interact on project  \t\t\t\t\tstandards coordination with clients<\/li>\n<li>Insure CAD vendor  \t\t\t\t\tmanagement<\/li>\n<li>Provide training and  \t\t\t\t\tsupervision of in-house CAD users<\/li>\n<li>Generate written  \t\t\t\t\ttechnology evaluations for future software adoption<\/li>\n<li>Provide a budget for all  \t\t\t\t\tCAD technology items<\/li>\n<li>Maintain CAD document  \t\t\t\t\tarchive and retrieval for projects<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership and  \t\t\t\t\tvision to the firm in the area of CAD<\/li>\n<li>Train in-house support  \t\t\t\t\tstaff<\/li>\n<li>Develop training budget  \t\t\t\t\tand overall scope<\/li>\n<li>Customization of CAD  \t\t\t\t\tPrograms<\/li>\n<li>Maintain CAD Software  \t\t\t\t\tinventory<\/li>\n<li>Strategic Planning<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling drawing completion<\/li>\n<li>Photograph recent projects<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and maintain server<\/li>\n<li>Daily backups<\/li>\n<li>AntiVirus and SPAM filter overview and maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Order new hardware and config and setup when it arrives<\/li>\n<li>Order &amp; maintain print &amp; plotter supplies<\/li>\n<li>Archive completed projects<\/li>\n<li>Collect &amp; shred old dwgs and paperwork<\/li>\n<li>Provide input to business development<\/li>\n<li>Conduct project related model reviews<\/li>\n<li>Produce corporate CAD screen shots<\/li>\n<li>Clean up CAD files for project closeout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What more should be added?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote this some time ago and I am reposting it.\u00a0 I am in the process of writing an updated Job Description and will post that at some point.
