If you have started delving into dynamic Blocks you know that it is a very robust tool. You also know that it may be something you don’t want every user playing with, or messing up your DBlocks.<\/p>\n

To Disallows opening of the Block Editor and editing of dynamic block definitions, Set BLOCKEDITLOCK to 1. When this variable is set to 1, double-clicking a dynamic block in a drawing opens the Reference Edit<\/span> dialog box. If the block contains attributes, double-clicking the block reference opens the Enhanced Attribute Editor<\/span><\/p>\n

“0” – Specifies that the Block Editor can be opened<\/p>\n

“1” – Specifies that the Block Editor cannot be opened<\/p>\n

The Autodesk Help file has a typo in it…<\/p>\n

To prevent access to the Block Editor<\/p>\n

  1. On the command line, enter blockedtlock<\/span>. <=== misspelled<\/li>\n
  2. Enter 1<\/span>, and then press ENTER<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When you turn off the Editor you may be doing more damage than leaving it on… When someone tries to edit a DBlock they may loose all of the intellegence that is built in. The following warning is displayed when trying to edit a DBlock in REFEDIT.<\/p>\n
