{"id":1113,"date":"2009-10-19T15:40:42","date_gmt":"2009-10-19T23:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?p=1113"},"modified":"2009-10-19T20:41:24","modified_gmt":"2009-10-20T04:41:24","slug":"autocad-2010-save-options","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2009\/10\/autocad-2010-save-options\/","title":{"rendered":"AutoCAD 2010 &#8211; Save Options"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you open a file in 2010 and save it, you have several options&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, you can save it in the native 2010 format.\u00a0 This is the default setting and you need not do anything to make it happen.\u00a0 But you may need to send files to those who are using other formats.\u00a0 there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/2009\/10\/autocad-file-format-compatability\/\">several formats that can be used<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can also save a drawing to an earlier version of the drawing format (DWG) or  drawing interchange format (DXF), or save a drawing as a template file.<\/p>\n<p>You can save each file  one at a time:<\/p>\n<p>Choose  the format from Files of Type in the Save Drawing As dialog box.<\/p>\n<p>File &gt; SaveAs&#8230; &gt; Then select from the dropdown list<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1122\" title=\"SaveAsFormat-once\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat-once1.jpg\" alt=\"SaveAsFormat-once\" width=\"591\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat-once1.jpg 591w, https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat-once1-300x148.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Or you can set your system to save them all back to a prior release:<\/p>\n<p>In the Options Dialog box &gt; click on the Open and Save Tab&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1133\" title=\"SaveAsFormat\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat.jpg\" alt=\"SaveAsFormat\" width=\"425\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat.jpg 425w, https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/SaveAsFormat-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Set the Save as: drop down to the setting you want and click OK to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reduce the Time Required to Save a Drawing File<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can reduce the time needed to save a file if you specify an &#8220;incremental save&#8221; rather than a &#8220;full save&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>An incremental save updates only those portions of the saved drawing file that have changed.<\/p>\n<p>AutoCAD, like other file formats, records file edits.\u00a0 When a save is done, it looks for those items that have changed and saves only those.\u00a0 That is called an incremental save.<\/p>\n<p>When you use incremental saves, drawing files will contain asome wasted space.
