I get a lot of people who are confused by the file formats and their compatability between releases.\u00a0 Some wonder why onve version won’t open a certain file and others wonder why their files are not readable by others.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it just comes down to file formats.<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2010<\/strong> File Format is used for:

AutoCAD 2007<\/strong> File Format is used for:<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2007
\nAutoCAD 2008
\nAutoCAD 2009<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2004<\/strong> File Format is used for:<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2004
\nAutoCAD 2005
\nAutoCAD 2006<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2000<\/strong> File Format is used for:<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 2000
\nAutoCAD 2000i
\nAutoCAD 2002<\/p>\n

AutoCAD 14<\/strong> File Format is used for:<\/p>\n

AutoCAD R14<\/p>\n

New releases can open older releases.\u00a0 Older software cannot open newer formats.<\/p>\n

When you are saving a file for someone else, make sure that you save it in the right format.<\/p>\n
