{"id":1697,"date":"2010-03-21T10:11:32","date_gmt":"2010-03-21T18:11:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/?page_id=1697"},"modified":"2010-03-21T12:21:44","modified_gmt":"2010-03-21T20:21:44","slug":"book-review-revit-architecture-2010-no-experience-required","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/books\/book-reviews\/book-review-revit-architecture-2010-no-experience-required\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Review &#8211; Revit Architecture 2010 &#8211; No Experience Required"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting at the beginning is a challenging undertaking for some, but Eric Wing has created a book that starts from the very first step into Revit for those who have never journeyed down that road before.\u00a0 But there are plenty of tips, tricks and warnings along the way to bring an &#8220;ah ha&#8221; moment to any Revit user.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RevitArch-NoExperience.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1698\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"RevitArch-NoExperience\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RevitArch-NoExperience-239x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RevitArch-NoExperience-239x300.jpg 239w, https:\/\/www.caddmanager.com\/CMB\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RevitArch-NoExperience.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 239px) 100vw, 239px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eric starts at the very basic level of the user interface, but takes an in depth level of explanation so that what obvious\u00a0 to long tern users is not missed by those that are joining the Revit movement.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter two then jumps right in and has you creating models &#8211; how to draw and add walls and specifically where to click to get the right creation process done.\u00a0 All\u00a0 along the way the book has relevant Tips and Suggestions that seem to answer the questions that come to mind the first time through the process.\u00a0 Warnings are also provided by the author so that you do not make common mistakes or misunderstand the interactions of the tools.<\/p>\n<p>This is a big book &#8211; 958 pages worth of instruction, training, processes, insight and knowledge.\u00a0 It is not for the fainthearted.\u00a0 But it you are interested in getting a broad look at the tools and focuses that Revit has, you should check it out.\u00a0 It does not take long to realize that the author is familiar with the tool and can assist others in getting up to speed.<\/p>\n<p>Marching through the chapters the reader is quickly creating real world models and drawing sets.\u00a0 After creating objects the book takes you quickly into how to edit and modify them.
