AutoCad 2007 will work with Vista, all you have to do is download the patch for free from Autodesks website.

How did you get your version to run on Windows 7? Every time I open the file my computer says something on the lines of “not compatible”. The computer suggested I go to the Autodesk website and download patch #2 for vista but it doesn’t help with 7.

If you right click the icon and go to properties you can go to the compatability tab and set it to run in Windows XP SP3 mode. It will then open, it runs but be aware that it is not supported so if you have any problems you will have to solve it yourself and also there may not be any solution at all.

overslug if you want to run AutoCAD on Mac you will need to run Windows either in Bootcamp or in Parrallel with Mac. AutoCAD doesn’t have a Mac version and probably never will.

I have AutoCAD2006 running on Windows 7 Professional and Windows Vista Home Premium. With Vista, you have to set the setup files to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Sp3. With Windows 7, you have to enable the hidden Administrator account and install it and run it in this account. You also have to set the install file to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Sp3. Once it is installed in either version of Windows (Vista or 7) the exe file must be set to compatibility mode for Windows XP Sp3. I don’t use AutoCAD that much, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you much about any errors that might show up in either installation. However, I haven’t seen any in the few times that I have used the program.
