FYI – I havent’ been able to get Alt + F11 to open VBA since release 2005 in ADT or ACA versions…works fine in Vanilla AutoCAD (Don’t hate me Eric)
Here’s one missing from your list: Use the ~ (tilde) symbol to open dialogs when they’ve been disabled or turned off via filedia or cmddia variables.

Tools > Customize > Edit Program Parameters
This notepad file can be copied and transfered to other computers. It is very useful because it is portable. My coworker taught me last week.
#5 Comment By Noriko Marshall On 2008/11/29 @ 5:43 PM
If I were you, I would make sure there are no duplicates on the list. For example, LI is already taken. You might find work-around, but I would assign other command in order not to confuse the system.

Hi
I have recently started working with a company that operates AutoCAD 2006 on a MAC by using a parallels system. The problem is that my shortcuts don’t work ie. ortho & osnap being the most important. Does anyone know how I can get these shortcuts to work??
#8 Comment By elyse On 2009/02/11 @ 10:59 PM
ORTHO for Mac is control+shift then “o”

GO TO TOOLS, CUSTOMIZE, ACADPGP THEN YOU’LL SEE ALL THE COMMAND SHORTCUT- HOW TO EDIT RIGHT CLICK HIGHLIGHT THE SHORTCUT COMMANDS AND CHANGE IT TO YOUR SHORTCUT COMMAND LET SAY REC – RECTANGLE CHANGE IT TO RC BUT MAKE SURE WHEN YOU CHANGE THE SHORTCUT IT DOES’NT HAVE THE SAME DEFAULT SHORTCUT COMMAND OF YOUR AUTOCAD AFTER YOU’VE DONE IT SAVE AND CLOSE YOUR AUTOCAD PROGRAM THEN OPEN IT AGAIN AND TYPE YOUR UPDATE COMMAND YOU’LL NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE – HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU THANKS

#12 Comment By Ray On 2009/06/04 @ 12:11 PM
When editing acad.pgp, it is a good idea to place your new aliases at the bottom in the “– User Defined Command Aliases –” section for successful migration when you upgrade to the next version of ACAD.
Also, I believe that those in the bottom section will take precedence over the ones above.

Too bad Autodesk did not think of putting an accelerator key combination in to turn the View Cube on and off…
#42 Comment By DLO On 2010/11/16 @ 2:58 PM
@ Chimaobi.
1. Draw a line where you want your break to be.
2. Type TR (shortcut) to Trim.
3. Select cutting line
4. right click or enter
5. select side of line or arc you want cut off.
6. delete temporary cutting line if needed.

Sir,
I’m using ACAD08 in the office here in Japan, when loading .cui files I accidentally press the unload of acad.cui and the all the commands have gone but I managed to restore the buttons by loading again the acad.cui files but there’s 1 more problem. The shortcut command that is input on the command line did not work, you must type the whole command to accept it meaning if you type “L” for line it will not work, you must type “LINE” to execute.. I’m not a japanese so it is very hard for me to read the option..
Thanks in advance..

does it contain all the shortcuts that exist in the program?
does it the same shortcut for all the versions? 2007-2012?
#87 Comment By Jon On 2011/09/03 @ 4:24 PM
does any command gets to have its own shortcuts? or only some of the commands?
#88 Comment By Jason On 2011/09/09 @ 7:04 AM
I’m using Autocad 2012 and have somehow managed to accidentally disable my key commands. “L” no longer works for line, “M” for move, etc. But if I type the whole command out “line”, “move” it works, not exactly a shortcut anymore though.

Jon,
These are the shortcuts that Autodesk has defined for the Commands.
#91 Comment By CADDManager On 2011/09/15 @ 1:07 PM
Jason
Try a repair or reinstall or just look for the files acad.pgp or keyboardshortcuts.txt for your version. That is where the shortcuts are stored.

CADDmanager -
I am a short cut key command user – I use CTRL+ (learned drafting on a Mac with Vectorworks) for most of my commands, and thought I would share with others how to customize. You can change any of the standard CTRL+ commands listed above, and add new ones for any other command by going to (in 2012) manage > CUI Interface > customization in all files (table) + Keyboard Shortcuts + shortcut keys >> commands will be shown on the right hand side, you can double-click any of the commands to edit the shortcut keys.
To create new short cut keys for commands not already listed, drag any command from the Command List in the table below to the short cut key list and you will be able to edit and create a new shortcut key command just like for the others. You can also add SHIFT to any CTRL command if you run out of simple letter commands.
I am a Mac user and learned Cad with the mac based quick keys, so I’m sharing for any others like me. And personally I think CTRL commands are infinitely faster than any other way to interface…CTRL+Key is one key stroke, when most typed commands are at least 2-3 clicks and enter, not to mention hunting for tool bar commands…just sayin

im using autocad 2007 on an i mac using vmware.
im also using a windows mouse , but i cant get the pan to work ie the middle wheel. every time i push it and move the mouse the mac gestures cut in and the whole screen swipes away and i end up on the mission control .
very annoying ,
iv turned off the gestures onm the mac desktop but they continue to work withing vnware.
also i need to configure the centre wheel to pan when i hold it down. at the moment i have to hold down the command key on the keyboard and hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse..
any advice would be much appriciated
martyn

LINE WITH KEYED ENTRY : Example, draw a line 2 feet long, at 45 degrees north of the x-axis.
LINE, choose a starting point with the mouse, specify next point, type : @2’<45, ENTER
@ = from the start point
2’ = the distance
< = AutoCAD code
45 = the angle, in degrees
